Will 2008 be a good or bad year for the economy? It is hard to predict, I for one don't know the answer. I suppose you could always consult a psychic for the answer, but I wouldn't be too surprised if they are wrong. Economists, business leaders and politicians each have their own 2008 economic predictions, but are they right? Well in the past, it was rather difficult to tell who was going to be right before the actual event occurred. As they say with the stock market, past results are no guarantee of future returns. Those who made accurate economic predictions for 2007, 2006 or before, may be right again or they may be wrong. However, now there is a way to see how accurate different 2008 economic predictions are. With prediction markets, you can easily see what people think will happen in 2008, in terms of the economy and other major political and current events. Then you can compare those with your own ideas. It is very easy to make a prediction about something but it is a different matter to put your money where your mouth is. Prediction markets work for that very reason; people place money on the outcomes they think will happen. Thus, prediction market traders don't only talk the talk, they walk the walk. If you are curious about 2008 economic predictions I recommend you visit a prediction market site and see what people are thinking. If you agree, great. If you disagree it may give you an opportunity to make money. You can either buy or sell a given 2008 economic prediction contract and if you are correct you will be that much richer. For example some of the 2008 economic prediction contracts that exist include:
In either case you can visit any prediction market and find out how your 2008 economic predictions compare with other peoples. |
